Dr Bharat Khialani is an Interventional Cardiologist with interests in all aspects of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease. He is passionate about ischaemic heart disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, percutaneous coronary intervention and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
Dr Khialani completed a Bachelor of BioMedical Science before obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Deans Commendation for high achievement in 2011. During his junior doctor years, Bharat also graduated with a Masters of Public Health in 2013 and a Master of Medicine in 2017. He trained in Cardiology in Melbourne, at University Hospital Geelong, Monash Medical Centre and The Alfred Hospital, and was conferred Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in November 2018.
Bharat undertook an overseas Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the prestigious Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge UK, the largest specialist Cardiothoracic hospital and the main heart and lung transplant centre in England. Here, he trained with world leaders in the field and developed skills in diagnostic angiography, complex coronary stenting through the radial approach, intracoronary imaging (IVUS, OCT), balloon aortic valvuloplasty and TAVR. He has also been actively involved in Cardiovascular research, presenting at both local and international conferences.
He returns to Australia with his wife and two beautiful young children, joining Access Cardiology as the newest member of our team.
